Columbia Auto Market Maintains Growth Curve
The Colombian auto market has retained its growth curve in October by posting sales of 20,900 units, up 13.3% compared to September, a month which also grew 39% above August. Data source: Andemos
The Andemos said this recovery is due to the increase of procurement for “safe transportation” as well as reopening of the economy and ending of personal isolation.
According to Andemos, if no new measures requiring isolation are taken, then the reduction compared to 2019 will be around 30%

Petrobras Finishes Tests To Start Production of HVO in Brazil

Petrobras has concluded the test production of 40 million liters of diesel mixed with HVO from 2 million liters of soy. The regulation is still pending on ANP.Once regulated, the HVO will compose part of the renewable mix at Diesel with the existing Biodiesel yielding better effects for engines and even less emissions. Today, the renewable content of the mix is 12% and it will reach 15% by 2023.

Brazil Extends Trade Agreements with Mexico and Paraguay
Brazil recently published two trade agreements with Mexico, and, earlier in July, with Paraguay. The Mexican agreements cover Commercial Vehicles trade, with the reduction of import taxes progressively reaching zero by 2022. The agreement with Paraguay covers auto parts taxes from country to country. The taxes are now between 0 and 2% and will be zero in 2022.

Chile Bets on Hydrogen

Higher Octane Gasoline Offered in Brazil
Fabio Ferraresi The new specs as per ANP 087/20 resolution determines the minimum density of 715 kg/m3 and minimum octanes of 92 RON. In January 2022, it will be 93 RON. The Ethanol mix was kept in 27% for regular gasoline and 25% for premium gasolines.

Brazil CE Sales To Grow 15% Despite COVID
Fabio Ferraresi Construction Equipment Internal Sales in Brazil from January thru May grew 35% over the same period of 2019. The Brazilian Machinery Builders´ Association (ABIMAQ) expects 2020 sales to hit 20,000 machines, 15% more than in 2019.

Pepsico Acquires 18 Scania Trucks Fueled by NG / Biomethane in Brazil
