    The 23rd edition of FENATRAN, the International Road Cargo Transport Trade Show, brought together more than 500 brands in the exhibition pavilion of São Paulo Expo, Nov. 7-11, and generated total revenue of about USD 2 billion, more than USD 200 million than the last edition of FENATRAN, held in 2019.     TheM&T Expo 2022 is one of the most important trade fairs in the construction and mining equipment industry throughout Latin America and this year the show featured more than 600 exhibiting brands in 54,000 square meters. Held in Sao Paulo Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2022, the event had more than 30,000 visits in four days. 

    Disagreements between show organizers and exhibitors caused key players in the market to avoid the show. The list of missing exhibitors included Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, JCB, CNH, and Volvo. Chinese companies, as well as Liebherr, took this opportunity to use large spaces at the event, both in area and in product portfolio with respective sales and engineering teams.

  • The Future of Commercial Vehicles. Perspectives for Brazil

    1. INTRODUCTION

    The use of diesel in Commercial Vehicles and its alternatives has been studied and discussed globally over the past two decades. We have updated future trends annually based on the new platforms in our data and new models in development allowing us a 10-year horizon. In August 2019 we published an article on the subject for Automotive Business Brazil, which is now updating.

    In the 2019 article we said that fossil diesel propulsion for commercial vehicles would be exposed to several alternatives and therefore the 20s decade would be a decade of significant changes, justifying yearly monitoring of the subject.

    This whole range of studies was then impacted by COVID-19, a new event at the beginning of this decade that is another factor of change in this complex subject.

  • TUPY Acquires Teksid from Fiat Group for €210 million

    Tupy S.A., a Brazilian-based manufacturer of engineered cast iron structural components, today said it has agreed to acquire FCA’s global cast iron automotive components business, which is operated through FCA’s subsidiary Teksid S.p.A.

    PSR Analysis: With the acquisition of the Italian cast iron foundry, the Brazilian company will have almost 10% of the global sales in the segment with a combined revenue in the range of 7 billion Reais (approximately $ 1.8 billion USD. PSR

    Tupy says this deal will expand its presence in key segments of the global capital goods industry and will expand its potential for growth in machining and engineering services.
