Fabio Ferraresi is Managing Director, South America at Power Systems Research, where he leads regional market intelligence, consulting activities, and business development across multiple equipment segments. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an MBA in Business Management from FGV and Ohio University. Fabio also holds Six Sigma Black Belt, CMQ-OE and CQE certifications from the American Society for Quality.
Prior to joining PSR in 2014, Fabio spent 13 years at Eaton Corporation in Brazil and China, where he held leadership roles including supplier development manager, supply chain manager, factory manager, and quality manager. His experience spans the automotive and industrial sectors across South America and Asia. He also serves as director at Grupo Engenho, a consulting firm focused on operational excellence and business transformation and volunteers on key committees of SAE Brazil and AEA, nonprofit organizations that support the development of policies related to the products PSR covers.
Fenatran is one of the largest transport and logistics fairs in Latin America. It is held every other year in São Paulo, Brazil. This year it was held Nov. 4 – 8 and, as usual, introduced significant launches in the road transport sector, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and connectivity.
This year’s edition featured 600 exhibitors, including 74 new brands, spread across an area of over 100,000 m²; more than 60,000 people attended. The Power Systems Research team in South America visited the show to monitor trends

More than 600 exhibitors from the marine pleasure industry showed off their latest models of boats, yachts, marine equipment and other products and services at the 47th annual Cannes Yachting Festival, Europe’s biggest in-water event, just closed its doors. The event ran Sept. 10-15.
An estimated 50,000 visitors attended the festival and got an excellent note for organization from all participants and visitors. The next year’s edition will be held Sept. 9-14, 2025.
The electric marine market has been very dynamic in the last 10 years and electric products and accessories were very popular at the show. Investments in research and development of new technologies and their implementation into boats have been extremely high.
General Observations. The core topics at HANNOVER MESSE included artificial intelligence, hydrogen, energy management, connected and intelligent production, and the new Manufacturing-X data ecosystem.
More than 4,000 exhibitors presented their solutions and welcomed 130,000 visitors from around the globe. There seemed to be a very large Chinese contingent at the show (both as visitors and exhibitors), as well as a large number of local governments, universities and startups. There seemed to be a predominance of exhibitors showing bearings, copper fittings, cables and components as well as systems / electronics companies.
There was also a large number of independent robots in evidence, ranging from robotic dogs and robotic servers to robotic messengers following pre planned routes.
The Power Systems Research team in Brazil attended Automec 2023 this month, the show dedicated to the On Highway aftermarket. It’s the show that features main components manufacturers selling in Aftermarket.
This year’s edition took place April 25-29 at São Paulo Expo where more than 1500 brands were shown by 450 international exhibitors from 12 countries, in seven international pavilions.
More than 90,000 attendees visited the show(20% above last edition), with 30% of returning rate, coming from all regions of Brazil and 60 countries. The estimated volume of business is US$ 6 Billion (R$ 29,5 Billion).
Our Power Systems Research South America Team visited the Agrishow 2023, in Ribeirão Preto-SP, Brazil, visiting customers and checking the new launches and market expectations. It’s the world’s largest show on Agricultural Equipment
The general expectations of exhibitors we talked with were not positive. Exhibitors carefully spoke about some factors influencing the market, such as lower commodities prices and the new government often speaking against Agribusiness that does not promote positive investment decisions.
On the other hand, the projections of business during the show surpass US$ 2,6 Billion (R$ 13,2 Billion), that is 18% nominal growth over 2022 business and actual growth of 9.5% discounting inflation. The expectation is for a recovery in commodities prices in 2H 2023. The government is also announcing more credit for this segment and OEMs are offering their own credit lines.

The 23rd edition of FENATRAN, the International Road Cargo Transport Trade Show, brought together more than 500 brands in the exhibition pavilion of São Paulo Expo, Nov. 7-11, and generated total revenue of about USD 2 billion, more than USD 200 million than the last edition of FENATRAN, held in 2019. After more than three years, BAUMA, one of the largest construction events in the world, reopened its doors for seven days in Munich Oct. 24. Power Systems Research (PSR) had a five-person team at the event, discussing trends with industry representatives, from new products and services to topics around the future evolution f sustainable technologies.
