Briggs & Stratton Files Chapter 11, Sets Sale Agreement

Briggs & Stratton (B&S) one of the  largest producers of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, and a manufacturer of power generation, pressure washer, lawn and garden, turf care and job site products, has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

The company has obtained $677.5 million in financing, with $265 million committed by KPS and the remaining $412.5 from the company’s existing group of lenders.

B&S also announced it has entered into a definitive stock and asset purchase agreement with KPS Capital Partners. Under the terms of the agreement, an affiliate of KPS formed for purposes of this transaction has agreed to acquire substantially all the company’s assets and assume certain customer, employee and vendor liabilities.

After selling 35 NG Trucks in Chile, Iveco announced the sale of 100 Stralis NP Cursor 13 NGs in Argentina for a supplier to O&G industry in the Southern country.

Uralmash Sets Deal of US$ 322 Million with India

Uralmash (a subsidiary of UZTM-Kartex) has signed its largest deal in the last 30 years. UZTM-Kartex and Coal India Ltd Binay Dayal have signed a contract totaling US$ 322 million for walking excavators, according to the company.

Under the contract, the Uralmash plant will deliver five electric-powered walking excavators of increased power – ESH24.95 and will perform assembly of the equipment on the customer’s site. The OEM also will service machines for 11 years.

Moscow Heat and Power Show

MOSCOW–The fourth annual Heat and Power Show was conducted here Oct. 22-24, and a significant part of the fair was dedicated to small generation and co-generation applications.

Although at the moment this fair is rather small, it has a good potential to become a large international show because it is only fair in Russia with such a specialization. There were about 100 participants from 12 countries.

Gen-Set Sales Gain Momentum in Q2 2017

SUMMARY: Considering sales across all power ranges, gen-set sales gathered some momentum in Q2 2017, up 1.8% compared to Q1 2017 levels.  This increase follows Q1 2017 where overall dealer reported sales were down 5.5% relative to Q4 2016 levels.

2019 North American Commercial Vehicle Show (NACV)

Power Systems Research had a booth presence at the 2019 North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show that took place at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, Oct. 28-31, 2019.

The NACV featured a “Technology Showcase” where many of the leading OEMs and supply chain companies put their latest market introductions on display.  There were over 500 exhibitors at the show – assembled in both Exhibition Hall A and Exhibition Hall B of the World Congress Center.

The Battery Show Europe and the Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo Europe is scheduled to be held June 28-30 at the Messe Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany.  More than 6,000 attendees are expected to tour the show and visit the more than 540 exhibiting suppliers.

Show Report: Automec 2023

The Power Systems Research team in Brazil attended Automec 2023 this month, the show dedicated to the On Highway aftermarket. It’s the show that features main components manufacturers selling in Aftermarket.

This year’s edition took place April 25-29 at São Paulo Expo where more than 1500 brands were shown by 450 international exhibitors from 12 countries, in seven international pavilions.

More than 90,000 attendees visited the show(20% above last edition), with 30% of returning rate, coming from all regions of Brazil and 60 countries. The estimated volume of business is US$ 6 Billion (R$ 29,5 Billion).
