Q3 2019 Power Systems Research Truck Production Index (PSR-TPI) falls 9.4%
St. Paul, MN (Oct. 16, 2019)— The Power Systems Research Truck Production Index (PSR-TPI) dropped from 128 to 1116, or 9.4%, for the three-month period ended Sept. 30, 2019, from Q2 2019. The year-over-year (Q3 2018 to Q3 2019) loss for the PSR-TPI was, 120 to 116, or 3.3%.

This is the story of a 40-year-old company that carried on
and succeeded following the sudden and tragic death of its
Founder and President last year. Early in 2015, George Zirnhelt,
the dynamic and creative Founder and President of Power Systems
Research (PSR), passed away from injuries sustained in an
accident while vacationing in Mexico.
The PSR global team rebounded from this loss, immediately
implementing a crisis operations plan and a management transition
program that were both already put in place. Instead of losing
ground, the company finished 2015 strong, by following through
on several strategic tasks that George had initiated and implemented
to position the company for future growth and expansion.
Already in Q1, 2016 revenue was the best in more than a decade
– a sign that the company is moving forward despite tragic loss.

Power Systems Research Assists on Gen-Set Emissions Project
WHITE PLAINS, NY – The Pace Energy and Climate Center (Pace) has announced a new data analysis tool and research model in a report titled “Estimating the Air Emissions of Stationary Engine Generators under Two Megawatts,” both developed with support from Environmental Defense Fund.
The project drew upon data provided by Power Systems Research (PSR), a Minneapolis-based research firm, from its proprietary PartsLink database.
Cummins Agnostic ICE’s and Hydrogen Fuel Update

Cummins plans to introduce their agnostic ICE engine platforms with testing to begin in 2024 and series production to start in the 2026/2027 timeframe. The engine platforms use a common base engine. Below the head gasket the engines will mostly have similar components and above the head gasket the engine will have different components for different fuel types. The new platforms will include the B6.7, X10 and the X15 engines. The X10 will ultimately supersede the current L9 and X12 engine platforms.
In North America, Cummins plans to introduce the agnostic engine platforms starting in 2026. Diesel and natural gas will be the first fuel types introduced and hydrogen versions will soon follow.

Moscow Hosts 2019 Comtrans and Interauto Shows
During the first week of September, there were two major trade shows in Moscow dedicated to powertrain and vehicles. They are Interauto (automotive components, service equipment, spare parts), and Comtrans (commercial on-highway vehicles).
Q3 2018 Power Systems Truck Production Index (PSR-TPI) Slips 9.7%
St. Paul, MN— The Power Systems Research Truck Production Index (PSR-TPI) dropped from 124 to 112, or 9.7%, for the three-month period ended Sept. 30, 2018, from Q2 2018. The year-over-year (Q3 2017 to Q3 2018) gain for the PSR-TPI was, 110 to 112, or 1.8%.
