St. Paul, MN (July 29, 2024)— The Power Systems Research Truck Production Index (PSR-TPI) increased from 113 to 126, or 11.5%, for the three-month period ending June 30, 2024, from Q1 2024. The year-over-year (Q2 2023 to Q2 2024) increase for the PSR-TPI was 125 to 126, or 0.8%.
The PSR-TPI measures truck production globally and across six regions: North America, China, Europe, South America, Japan & Korea and Emerging Markets.

All Regions. In 2024, Medium and heavy commercial vehicle production in Europe South Asia and North America is expected to decline modestly while production in China, South America, Japan and Korea is expected to improve over last year.
Global Index. Globally, medium and heavy commercial vehicle production is expected to decline by 1.6% this year over 2023. Moving into 2024, much of the focus on demand will be centered around slowing global economic conditions that will likely impact overall freight demand. PSR
