CTT 2016 Moscow Report: Russian Market Passes Bottom
Russian OEMs Are Optimistic;
Bauma Operator Acquires Show
MOSCOW--Even though the Moscow Construction fair was smaller than last year (524 exhibitors compared to 690 firms in 2015), Russian OEMs are expressing optimism that the Russian construction market has bottomed out, in part because of increased protectionism support from the State.
The show was held here May 31 - June 4, 2016.
Market segments tied to consumer demand continue to fall, but other segments selected by the State relating to infrastructure and industrial development, have started to recover slowly.
Production figures for the first two quarters of 2016 confirm this recover. Truck production in Russia is up 14% for the period and tractor production has increased by seven percent.
